Sephiroth Fan Art

Hi, I am virtually new to zbrush, but have spent a lot of my free time trying to learn zbrush and use it as my sole application for 3D work. This is my my third ever zbrush sculpt and only the second using only zbrush. It’s obviously still a work in progress as I am using the sculpt to learn new zbrush techniques on. My aim is to eventually acquire the skills and portfolio required to work professionally. I only adopted 3D just a few years ago after years of being a 2D artist. I wonder if at 33 years of age I’ve adopted 3D to late to seek a career, but I’m very passionate about it and want to become skilled regardless.

I’ve been working on this sculpt for about a month and have continually re-adapted and re-iterated upon it as I have gotten better and learned new things. I would love to get any feedback from artists on the forum as the experience and talent here is mind-blowing.

Anyway, Sephiroth is such a brilliant, terrifying yet aesthetic character, that I decided to sculpt him for practice, using his appearance in the final fight between him and cloud, so that I could concentrate on anatomy and proportion without worrying to much about clothing, which I’m not very confident about (except that boots are easier than toes!). I tried to keep the stylistic proportion of those battle models, but with the new level of realism that zbrush offers to compromise between that style and newer 3D realizations of the character.
