I am doing a self portrait and am having a hard time… everytime i try to polypaint to texture my zbrush stalls. Im running an iMac 2.8 dual core with 4 gig of ram and Zbrush 3.2 PLEASE PLEASE HELP!!!

have you checked if your UV’s are overlapping. what size texture are you using. What are your preferences : memory settings at?
how long are you waiting when it stalls?
Okay it must be something to do with the UV… because I reset the uv to spherical and now it loaded a texture from poly paint… but now the texture gets all warped like motion blur style. Any suggestions on how to get UVs and Textures to play well? THANKS!
you don’t say what you want to do with this model. if you are planning on using the texture in another app you should set up your UV’s properly. if staying in zbrush, then use AUV, or PUV.
that you don’t understand why spherical is causing the issues that it is means you have a lot of studying to do about UV’s in general.
Yes I am a newbie… I am trying to learn as much as I can to work into an internship with a video game company… so all knowledge is very appreciated! I do need to study about UVs any suggestions? Thanks for the help in general.
Do some research on:
what, exactly, UVs are and how they work under the hood (wikipedia should have that)
how to lay out UVs in another app. I use Headus UVLayout and Paul has a bunch of video tutorials on his site.
and what the pros and cons are to ZBrushes automagic UV solutions
That should get you going in the right direction.
