Darktimax - a very strong self portrait - the sense of concentration and observation really comes through. You have the look of Brian Eno in his Roxy Music days.
Hummboxx - great start and hopefully you’ll post up the finished version when time allows perhaps in the wee small hours when the kids are finally asleep.
Nice ones guys, you can expect one of my own up here when i get far enough!
Thanks Guti, I am still working on it. Here is what I’ve got so far. I have never been good at doing hair but, i’m trying to figure out some stuff.

My first draft of my only head. You don’t know what I look like (unless you’ve bin to my site), but my wife says it really looks like me - on a good day! Fortunately I got no hair, makes it a whole lot easier! This is the third 3D model I’ve ever gotten this far with. In April I’d never made a model of any kind (except with clay or marble). I could never have gotten to this stage in Max or Maya, I tried 'em, after a month I’d made a very nice ball. This thing is 4/5ths of the way to being as easy as real clay, in some ways it’s easier.
Now I just gotta learn texturing etc.
my selfportrait z2 ,render z3

Since i’m quite new to zbrush i thought this challange would be nice to take up as a first project, and a good way to get to learn the zbrush tools.
I must admit it took a bit longer than I had anticipated, but then again it was a learning process, and zbrush is quite different from max and other 3d programs.
First i start of with a basic head model
To all the ppl out there I’m sorry it’s actually not bad graphis… I am that ugly

here’s a self-p i made in a short time -

Here’s another go at moi - this time more like it.
One gets a stronger sense of the limited scottish genepool with this attempt.
My last foray was way to greek god:lol:
Hope more of you give it a go
scottish? more north, sir - excellent portrait!
wow. cool thread. I’ll give it a try when I get time. Oh, almost forgot. Someone was asking about hair. I believe this is one of the best ways, at least that I’ve seen in zb …and even though it’s an older z2 script. I use this method a lot. Maybe too many polys for use in other progs though. not sure http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=4666&highlight=hair+script
great challenge…i would join in…but, i’m poor and have a piece of crap computer…800mhz 256mb ram emac. i’m savin’ for a new mac then zbrush and i can’t f***in wait!!! hopefully the mac version will be out by the time i can afford a new computer.
cbo42dk…man…that is great work…you look like a bouncer at a hardcore bar.
can’t wait to see more.
Just saw this thread. This is an older one I did a few months ago.

that’s a very nice one!
That’s a really sweet one. As soon as my computer is back up and running I’ll be adding to this thread. Too much fun not to.
This is WIP, Don’t know what to do about the hair, college projext, has to be in mid january. Love a bit of crit!!!
This is my first crack at a realistic human head. Any crits (or job offers) welcome. haha
monteford2002> Good work for your first attempt. It’s good to see someone from SCAD up here. Just stopped by your site and checked it out. According to your resume you still have a little under a year before graduating. You already looking for a job? ha ha.
Yeah, I’m ramping up for the career fair in April so I’m planning on having a finished reel in the next few months to send out. Pretty cool character designs on your site too.
Ha, that stuff so old… I really need to update. Thanks though.
Well, goodluck with your jobsearch. I don’t think you’ll have too much trouble.
