select rect front side only not the back side

When I do the select rect it selects not only front side but also the back side.would it be possible not to select the backside??

Just deselect the backside strg-shift-alt

Select Rect and Lassos will always cut through the entire mesh. If you want to target one specific area, you can either"


  • demask the parts you don’t want afterwards
  • visibly isolate the part of the model you want to mask first
  • use projection master + black polypaint and convert that to a mask
  • use Tool: Polygroup: Group Front to group the portion you want masked

how can I convert to the mask from the black polypaint after the projection master??

Tool: Masking: Mask by Intensity will convert it into a mask
