select lasso and mask lasso (answered)

Hello,
I love the new selecting options (SelectRect, SelectLasso, MaskCircle, Mask Rect, MaskLasso, etc).

I use them often. When I select any of these for the first time I am given a few options. I always select ‘skip this note until next restart’. Is there any way that I can turn off these options? I’d love it if I could simply select one of these and it just worked, rather than asking me any questions.

Thanks

If you hold Ctrl when selecting a Masking brush, and hold Shift+Ctrl when selecting a Selection/Clip brush then message won’t appear. I find it easiest to Ctrl+click (or Shift+Ctrl+click) the Current Brush thumbnail on the left of the UI rather than calling the large popup using ‘B’.

I’m curious why they omit this from the Smooth brushes. In the same respect, you would think that when you press ‘Shift’ and click the Current Brush thumbnail that you would only get the Smooth brushes instead of all the brushes.

Probably because you aren’t limited to just the smooth brushes using the shift key. You can assign, for example, the pinch brush to the shift key.

Thanks Nansyan, I didn’t even think of trying that. I always thought Shift was for smoothing and that’s all I used it for, but this is good.

Sorry bLawless, didn’t mean to hijack your thred. :o

Yes, as Nancy says - thanks Nancy  - you can assign any of the sculpting brushes to the Shift key; simply hold Shift and click on the one you want.
