Zbrush is the perfect tool for this kind of stuff. Working with layers gives you a lot of flexibility against clients feedback:wink 
In this case I had to retopologize the whole steering wheel an make a dedicate stitch pattern in order to create an stroke brush.

I love to see fine detail work like this. That animation is really cool. It’s so unfair that few people will appreciate the work you put into pulling off that stitching. But we’ll know
