Heres my bust of Sean Connery,
I decided to start this on friday, i’ve come pretty far but i’m still not happy with my shading and the texturing is a bit rough.
Any specific advice or crits?

i would realy say !! whoooo shan connerie when is would first see this image but its a good exercise for sure
if i was you i would look for more refrences and start over (not been ofending here)
but i think you need to take a better look at detail and shape to get the whole thing better
lips are perfect but his eyes are too high and nose is too “flat” but maybe you have reference photos when he was young.Try to hide parts of his face and ask youself did he looks like Connery , its the best way i think , you should recognize on the real photo with this way and it will be helpful here.

Just a thought… It looks to me like his face is too narrow, try rounding him a little… From the eyes up, you have a pretty good likeness. Maybe just shorten the distance between the eyes to the tip of the nose.
Keep going though, with all the great talent here you will get enough help to make some real progress.
now his eyes looks better but you touched lips and they doesnt look as good like on the first pic.Yes just put eyes down a litle .
Thanks again for the crits guys…went back agian today and changed the proportions…seams to have helped allot.

Look at the links… you will get some pointers, especially the second one.
It’s looking much better though, the propotions seem to work better now. It’s hard without the eyes to really know if you have got a really accurate likeness. I suggest putting some in. Both the links havegot the eyes pretty well.

the shape of the head from this angle looks perfect work more on the other parts like eyes nose and ears first look at the shape and the picture work on it till they match.
pay extra atention to his mouth and eyes thats what makes people say ooooh Sean !

Hey all,
Just another update,
Seams to be sean connery mania on zbrush central this month, had no idea.
Anyway, heres my update for today…Just did some more proportion adjustments around the eye area, the chin, the nose, and the mouth.
Still not where i want to be, but atleast i’m making progress…

metfan, this is so cool. I could almost hear the scottish accent.
Only thing I think it needs is maybe, just a tiny bit longer face, around the nose.
