sculpture -man-

Gopher,

Been watching and enjoying this one for a bit now interestingly thinking what you might do as you put the finishing touches on it. So when I checked back in today I have to at least say I was surprised and shocked. It did bring a smile upon my face and a chuckle so it wasn’t all bad ;). You’ve done such a superb job thus far though alas I must agree with womball!! Those shorts gotta go or be revamped. At any rate great job overall and still will be looking in to see it as you continue to progress this image to its conclusion. :+1:

This is coming along really well, but again I have tto agree with Womball and Angelj. The shorts need to go. I picture him with a loin cloth, or if you did want shorts, make them less modern, and a bit more tatterd and torn.

Yeah my reaction to the sorts are the same as preious posts… I think he looks better with like medieval type of clothing .

Absolutely lose the shorts! I think that nude would be even better than the shorts, but I agree that a toga or loincloth would be best.

If it’s not too late, maybe the tentacle could be even larger, going over his head a bit…The statue has a sort of epic look to him, and I think that he would be battling a much larger creature. Just my opinion, I certainly don’t think it is a necessity.

Top notch modelling all around. The man’s anatomy is right on, and it is impressive that you evolved it from the female mesh.

Ok, thanks I’ve changed the trouser let me know me what you think now.
Anyway it’s not a big probleme if it doesn’t suit well because I can tweak or remove it easily.

I’ve made some tests render with ZBrush.

The last study, with no weapon or monster in it, is absolutely fantastic. The sculpting, pose and texturing are first class.

Yet, he seems to turn into a Poser figure when you add shorts, sword and tentacle. It’s bizarre. Partly, I think, it’s his pose, eyes and mouth that rob the scene of believability … his eyes aren’t looking at the tentacle, his body posture isn’t one of attack or defence, and his mouth is just open … there’s no dynamic or expression there. I’m sure that’s all fixable. But as he stands now, as a ‘statue’, he is awesome. :+1:

You are a good modeler, so if you wish my suggestion should be an easy adjustment.

He’s an old man with gray hair in 28-35 year old skin. Lose the super cut upper body, especially in the abs. Show us how gravity has effected this man over the years.

Now if you’re going for a greek god look than he’s fine if you soften the abs a little.

The legs seem fine leave 'em alone. His ass needs to droop a tad more.

Great work.
A bit of crit :i think his feet are a bit too big.
