Sculptris Strength Setting in Zbrush?

Hi there,

I’m pretty new to Zbrush but have used Sculptris for a while. Sculptris has a great feature with the Strength modifier, that creates new topology relative to the Brush settings and Strength value you give it. This combined with the Reduce brush gives you a surprising amount of dynamic control of the topology. This is great for giving detail to specific areas of the mesh without having to subdivide the entire mesh. Does Zbrush have a similar brush modifier?

If not, what is the best approach for wanting to get extra detail in specific areas, without having to subdivide the entire mesh?

Thanks in advance for any help

In order to increase the resolution of a part of a mesh you need to:

  1. Go to the lowest subdivision level.
  2. Mask the area you don’t want to affect. (Or mask the area you want and Ctrl+click the background to invert the mask.)
  3. Press Tool>Geometry>Divide (Ctrl+D).
