Sculptris - Optimize certian areas of mesh?

I’ve been trying to figure this out, but when I start sculpting on a new sphere in sculptris, the mesh decimates automatically when I use any of the sculpting brushes. But, when I import one of my own models from zbrush using Goz, it doesn’t seem to do the same thing. Is there a setting I’m missing?

Also goz imports the model into the first subdiv level in sculptris. Is there a way to import my mesh and subdivide only the areas I need without subdividing the whole mesh>?

Make sure your detail slider is turned up.

To get your Highest level into Sculptris you need to delete your lower subD levels first. Then add the details you want…veins, pores, etc.
