I’m trying to use Sculptris mode like its… well… Sculptris, and its doing some weird stuff.
ZBrush’s dynamic tessellation is nothing like Sculptris and I dont know why and cant fix it.I have tried various things and just made it worse (and not in a way related to the problem, dynamic brush size made itr feel even worse for example).
I dont understand whats wrong here, SculptGL, Blender and even that thing meshmixer or whatever it was called tessellate in an intuitive way and yet I find ZBrush’s version to be seriously weird. To the point where I am still using Sculptris because it works better. I honestly find Dynamesh more like Sculptris than this new Sculptris mode.
So, is there a button someplace that I dont know about?
Here’s an example:
- Zoom in on an object.
- Draw stuff.
- Zoom back out.
- Smooth part of what you drew.
- Look at the result.
The smoothing dropped the resolution and trashed what you drew and in almost any case made it less smooth. All of the brushes that do dynamic tessellation do this, and some of the most important brushes, like the Move brush dont actually do dynamic tessellation at all.
I hope that makes sense, its kind of confusing…
Cheers,
Mealea
