Sculpting cloth folds ...

Hello all, I’m new to modeling/sculpting in Zbrush and I am looking for a tool or technique that will help me achieve creases, matted cloth and fold on a cloak I will later simulate in Maya. The concept I’ve been given to work off of if attached and also the screen shot of the cloak itself. I’ve started to attempt the folds but would love to get some input or resources I could check out before I start burning time. Thanks so much!

I’m not good enough to work like this so here’s what I do

I select the Pinch brush with lazymouse on and those settings
: brush mod:-94 (in the brush palette)
and for lazymouse (in the Stroke palette)
lazystep:0
lazyradius:33
lazysmooth:8

Sub will drag cloth up while Add will carve folds in.
Then a little move, inflat and magnify here and there.

In the Brush palette, set the Gravity Strength slider to greater than 0, and adjust the direction to downwards if necessary. Then your sculpting will flow downwards in a very natural manner.

If you’re planning on doing a cloth simulation as you say, is it not a bad idea to do sculpting of the folds, will they not interfere with the simulated folds, what i mean is they may not fall in the same place.

Thanks so much for the replies I cannot wait to try it out!
