Sculpting a tattered cape?

Does anyone have any advice about sculpting a heavily tattered cape? I’ve been trying to use shadowbox but to no avail:(.

Well, I can manage to do it with masking and extracting but when I check the mesh integrity it throws out all kinds of warnings. Would those warnings pose a problem for 3D printing?

Really? No one?

I haven’t tried any of the boolean operations yet but why not use them with your subtools and see what you get?

Thanks. I’ve been trying the boolean/remesh method but it isn’t giving me good results:(

try using 3d meshes-plane3d…subdivide a bit, paint your cape mask and then mask out negative areas for holes in cape…then do a mesh extract.Play around with alpha brushes for mask cutting to get cool effects.

If it still gives you problems then model a basic cape in another 3d package bring it in and detail in zbrush…
