Sculpt. Paint. Create. - My ZBrush Blog

Thanks Miguel and thanks to everyone for the positive feedback. Very motivating.

I have created a video tutorial showcasing how you can Transpose a model with multiple parts.

:large_orange_diamond: :large_orange_diamond: Click here for the video tutorial:large_orange_diamond: :large_orange_diamond:

I have also included a low rez version of the boxer for you to use while learning to Transpose.

Happy ZBrushing,

Ryan

Ryan are you spoiling us or what !! LOL  thx for the Boxer ZTool :+1:

By the way i wanted to suggest a wishlist on your blog … something like what artists would like to see in the next version of Zbrush that could be beneficial in their everyday work and speed up their pipeline … pretty much major things like transpose master … the users of the whishlist can provide input like 1) transpose master 2 ) …

this is gonna be world wide input from all artisits all over the place, maybe can bring 1 or 2 sparking ideas …

thanks again

THnakyou, i recently purchased Zbrush and im so impressed with both the package and equally the community behind it! The blog has already proved a great resource and ill continue to tap into it often.

Thanks for the recent update regarding ā€˜Transpose Master’ - its going to make things alot easier, i do love subtools, i just want to be able to move them all together easier!

Hello. I just added a new video showing you how you can use InsertMesh to add a braid to the DemoHead_Female and Transpose it quickly using Topological Masking and Transpose’ action line.

Hello,

I’m so grateful for these hair tutorials…just what I needed!

But I stumble over a problem right at the beginning.
When I try to use the clay brush I get unhairlike circles…even without any alpa, at a high resolution (more than 2 Mill) and with a mouse or a tablet both.
I don’t know what I do wrong…these strands do not look like in your video! :o

Thank you very much!

Tiger_Michel -

This is the result of your performance hitting the ceiling of your system’s capabilities.

I would suggest two things.

First, delete your model’s uvs by pressing Tool: Texture: Disable UVs.

Second, use Lazy mouse with a LazyStep setting of .1

Let me know if that helps.

r

Thank you for your answer but your advise didn’t help I fear…
UV wasn’t enabled to begin with and with Lazy Mouse at 1 it looks now so:

I have a P Dual Core with 2G RAM…do you think it’s not enough?

Question Pic 2 BIG.jpg

I think I found a solution!
This is the clay brush on the hair model at a lower
resolution (around 130.000)

Looks much better now!

Question Pic 3 BIG.jpg

Hello Ryan,

thanks for your following up with us man, i have one question and i am really not sure if this is the right thread to post it so excuse me … how can i combine a MatCap material with Basic Shader in Zbrush ?

one channel for MatCap and the other Channel Shader for BasicShader if you know what i mean … i can send you a sample if you want me to but it is not created by me … it is one of the things i hope oneday in Zbrush … a Skin Material ready for the artist to start poly painting on, but infact if i have the Matcap and the BasicShader in one material then that would be all i need.

thanks allot
G

I have added an article on creating a Digital Maquette. In this video I show you how I use Transposeto quickly create a maquette out of digital clay.

To help you learn to create digital maquettes, I have included a DemoMaquette_Female.ZTL. With extra edgeloops at the joints this model is designed for fast Transposing and to help you keep it simple.

Ryan,

I also would like to thank you for helping this forum become more proficient with zbrush. Your blog/thread mini-lessons really are of tremendous value!!! I did ā€œchoose to accept your missionā€, nothing to dynamic this time. It was fun!!
practice 1.jpg

Oh poses, hmmm, I think I have a thread around here full of those!

Really nice to see this process evolving so nicely in Zbrush.

I’ll have to pull up some of the old gang and compare then to now processes. Perhaps over the next few weeks I can find some time, might be interesting…

Something I think Ryan should have mentioned. If you don’t use his sample character, your character structure will affect your results.
