sculpt a non symmetric action figure, how to start?

Hello guys,

i have here an action figure , what i have got, when i was a child. The action figure is in a pose , so NOT symmertic.

Now i want to ask you, how i could start to make such a non symmertric figure in zbrush?

I thought, it would be good, to make a manneqin and pose him, like my action figure.

Hands, feet and Head, i make seperately and appen it to the body.

Is that a bad or good workflow?

The easier and quicker workflow is to make the character in a symmetrical T pose, open legs and arms 45 degrees and when finished pose it and correct details.
It is possible to model from start in the pose and a lot of people do it, but it is more difficult.
The fact that arms are separated or not in different sub tools it is not very important and depends more of the model. It if has clothing would make sense to have the head and hands in different sub tools, but all elements in the same tool.

Make a rough human mesh in a relaxed pose, then pose him and use zremesher/projection to deal with the distorted geometry then start sculpting asymmetrically. If you’re not good at anatomy you’ll quickly notice.
