A script calls for the full path to a particular interface item.
If you’re trying to hide points in the selection palette, change the line to say
<BLOCKQUOTE>quote:</font><HR>[IPress,Tool:Modifiers:Selection:HidePt]
<HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
If that’s not the particular item that you’re looking for, just use the same principle to get the one that you want.
I hope that helps!
take the section out of the script and run it.
can you post the zscript so i can see…
some time people import stuff that won’t work for others …
that word HIDE can mean alot of things even name of a texture could be called HIDE so ill need to see the ZScript
the script was mentat’s teeth script for the tools thread. Do you think it is corrupted?
he minimized his window when making a ZScript or closed it…
if you take the code out it will work.
save the Text file then RE open it and on the very Top You will see [IPress,HIDE]
take it out and it will work
Thanks EZ. I didn’t realize it was causing a problem. I ran the script and saw it minimize the window. I just maximized it again and it kept running fine with no problems. I don’t know why it does that. It happens quite often when I am recording scripts but I am not minimizing the window- it just does it by itself. After reading your expalanation about HIDE could it be happening when I am masking an area and then inverting it? I don’t hide or delete any points during the script but I do use masking. I wish the scripts worked more like they were intended. I often find what appear to be the most basic and clear cut routines get screwed up during the replaying of the script.
By the way I took that command line out of the script and it seems to work without minimizing the window now. Thanks EZ!
Hi,
For some reason I can’t open it in Simpletext, I get a message telling me the doc is too large even though I have 5 meg of memory for simple text.
I opened it in illustrator and saved it as a .txt file but that won’t work either. grrrr
its not your Masking doing it.
it seems it the first thing you click is minimize… are you 1024 x 768.
thelonious the file to large to large for notpad you might be low on memory try rebooting or click it once so its highlited and hold your (SHIFT Key)down then RIGHT CLICK and chose (open with) and chose (Word pad)
dont matter how much memory you have aftering being on your comp all day it wares down rebooting will boost it back up.
you said I get a message telling me the doc is too large.
your getting a message its to LARGE for (NOTE PAD)… that all
note pad can’t handle alot of text WORD PAD can
EZ
thanks. it’s not the comp memory as I have heaps even allowing for fragmenting. I’m on a mac so I don’t have Wordpad. I’ve only got simple text. I would have thought it should be able to open it but it doesn’t. I suppose illustrator doesn’t really save to the txt format.
Perhaps mentat can repost the teeth.txt file?
Mentat7 fixed it go try it over in the tool thread http://www.pixolator.com/zbc-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=004151&p=4
EZ my screen resolution is set at 1280 x 1024 but I created the teeth script in the default 640x480 document size. I never minimize my windows while working. When I am recording a script to share with others I am very careful not to do anything weird. i use the default document size. I use default materials. I stay away from “undoing” as much as possible… The only thing I did that early on in the scripting that I can think of that may have caused it was when I hit the TAB key to get rid of the floating menus. Other than that it is just a glitch that shows up to bother me from time to time. Grrrrr…
nope Not your TAB key wont do that.
if you put your curser over the minimize button you will see the word (HIDE) you might of mistakenly hit it looking at some thing else OR go to (prefrances)(Config)(REstore config)to help clean up some setting that could cause a glitch
thelonious, here is what i do to be able to edit scripts on a mac (this for sure is one of the silliest solutions but i could not find another way yet - hopefully there will be a mac-eye-opener here soonissimost! :))
as you i found myself unable to open selfrecorded or downloaded scripts in simpletext. i tried with apple-works, it does not open them, too - UNLESS i, hehehe, attach the script to an email i send to myself and after doing a saveas (of the attachment) with a new name. i found out about this as aurick sent me a script via email once hope this helps for now but hopefully someone pops up with a much easier method!
