Now the forums are open again and the competition is over, I just wanted to say that it was very entertaining seeing your amazing picture come together. You really did well and I loved the feel of the whole thing. It was very Terry Pratchett in it’s feel and I guess that’s why I liked it so much.
Shame it wasn’t in the top 3. It deserved to be for the effort and skill you put in, and you also showed us in detail how you made this image.

Just a few things I have an issue with.
there is no depth or real mood in your lighting, possibly because its a tad too illuminated making your characters blend in the background a bit. Honestly the lighting doesn’t do much for the detail you added to the model any justice. . If you possibly added a gradient to darken your background, then your characters would pop out a lot more.
In terms of the troll model itself, I think its great. Again the one thing letting it down is the expression on the trolls face, particularly the eyes. They say that you can tell a lot from a character by looking at the eyes. Your characters expression simply Isn’t communicating strong enough.
And in terms of the scenario itself, I simply don’t understand it at all. What are you trying to communicate to us with this scenario? It just tells me that you’re good at modelling but you lack storytelling. and if you cant effectvley communicate a strong and captivating story or message across with any of your work, then everything else falls flat.
other than that. i think its pretty good.
