I’m in…sounds like a fun challange.
The problem is that what you want to do essentially gives you a head start on the other entrants. We can’t allow this.
Ok, no problem! I kind of figured as much… Just thought I’d ask.
Good luck to all the competitors!
Rendering can be in another package. Keep in mind that the majority of the work on the project must be done in ZBrush. So if you render in another app you’ll need to compensate in other ways within ZBrush.
I have a question
In my concept I have a girl in a power ranger costume. So I wanted to know if this would violate the rule about using charters that are copyrighted? Because it is not actually a power ranger but clearly a girl in a cheep costume? :qu: Any thought and advice would be appreciated.
First post here.
Hi everyone.
Those news are wonderful Aurick, thanks.
This would be OK.
WOW!!
79 contestants so far!
Getting hard to keep up with everything!
great im in too
Hello Aurick!
I have one question: can I post an animation? It would be almost like an image and would be based on a still picture with slight DOF change…
I’m curious how long it might take for my thread to appear. I kinda wanted to go ahead and post that pic now before my next class starts, but I don’t even see my thread.
Just a reminder to everyone that the deadline for entries is Friday, November 2. As of today (October 23), that means that there are 10 days left! It’s exciting to see all the entries so far. Great work, all!
ARRRRGHGHHHHHH!!! Tick tock tick tock!!!
Please tell us the submission procedure and requirements.
Thank you,
Rory
I just found this cool contest, is it allowed to participate this late??
Hey,
We at ShareCG also have a very similar contest for Halloween. Deadline is Oct 31st, and we’re giving away Maxwell Render. I don’t know if the rules here prohibit double-entry, but if you’re entered in this competition, we won’t mind if you also enter in ours too.
The way to enter is by becoming a member, clicking “upload”, and uploading the entry to our 3d art gallery, making sure to select “Halloween Challenge” as the category (you’ll see what I mean when you get there…)
Best,
Jake
When I saw this contest on cgtalk I knew i just had to enter because my old tablet is a rather cheap one.
But I have one question :
In the discharge you said " Images may be 3D renders, 2D paintings, or a combination of both (thanks to ZBrush’s 2.5D technology)."
And in the rules you said “The majority of the effort put into creating the image should be done with ZBrush”
Well , I will do alot of the work in photoshop but I will also do some Detailing in ZBrush. Is that allowed?
60% or more of the work must be done in ZBrush in order for it to count as a majority. The more that is done in ZBrush, the better your chances of winning will be.
From your description, it does not sound like the majority of the work will be ZBrush. This would disqualify the entry.
Hello, i know this seam like it should be simple but can you tell me how to post a movie to my thread, i have a quick time movie of the making my background but cant upload it… any help would be great.
thanks
Kind of a late question, I know, but I had a sort of “retrospective” idea…My scene will have some background items (knick-knacks, brick-a-brack, whatever you want to call it). Can I use a few of my old models as elements on shelves? Sort of a callback to some of my old pieces, or framed versions of past images as pictures on a wall??? They won’t all be old items, just a couple for nostalgia.
Please let me know ASAP so I can either include them or make something new. Just in case you wonder, there are tons and tons of brand new items in the scene.
Thanks,
Brian
