I’ve kind of been searching this forum trying to find the best way to create scales and reptile skin I have seen some very great dinosaurs and dragons. and i wanted to try my hand at this but i don’t know the best way to make scales could anyone please point me in the right direction.
in pixologic website in download section there is complete set of alpha, you can download it,there are many reptile skin alphas.this will help you
I actually have the alphas but those aren’t what I’m looking for. or rather I’m looking to make scales that actually extrude from the model. not just an alpha but actualy sculpted on it. i really woudl love ot be able to model just 1 and instance them over an area of the model but i don’t know how thats done.
I don’t remember the artist that made this but this is the kind of scales I am going for. i suppose you could do this with the proper use of the alphas but i don’t know.
hai friend,i am sure that the guy made it uses alpha, and your question is how you make your one alpha.you can sculpt the scale on a plane and in alpha palette there is grab doc you can use it.image given may be done by using alpha and tiling it and use it as stencil…you search for tutorials here every one is useful.hope this helps you…
