Scabs on my Model

Does anyone else have issues with applying noise experience a, what can be described as a scabby surface? The usual bumps, but in addition, a scabby patch randomly distributed on the model.

Tried to show what happened in a Pic, but when I move it to save it as a .jpg, .png or any other file it doesn’t show up. Since this is my first time requesting assistance I’ll hold out for someone more courteous. Later, got it figured out and added an image.

To the person that responded “Pic or it didn’t happen”, I’ve never been called a liar in this way before, but my description in words thought was fairly accurate. This may be a standard way nubies are treated.ZBrush ScreenGrab01.jpg

Pics or it didn’t happen.

It’s not easy to help just from that screenshot. Maybe post another one with the settings in noise maker? The answer might lie in your curve settings and the strength of the noise. Regarding beta_channels’ comment … whatever happened to humor? He didn’t call you a liar, he was just asking for a screenshot (that line is an old gag in the 3D world) So maybe next time before freaking all out, it might be a good idea to ask what the person meant by that.

I added another view. The noise settings as listed:

Noise Scale 12.6 Strength -0.00073 Strength by mask 1 No Curve adjustment

I was trying to add skin texture by adding layers manually as suggested by some man on video (he sounds Russian) that I like. I was experimenting on a copy of this unfinished model. I want to keep this a realistic because this is a model of an image (from the only known image to exist) of my great great grand mother. The scabbiness didn’t show up when he was demonstrating this on video, so I wondered if my topology wasn’t smoothed out or perhaps my resolution wasn’t high enough? Not sure of what could be different. If I could find the video link, would this help?

Thank you, dsoellbuster for your insight about what maybe going on with Noise Maker and the “Humor” here among members. I’m sorry to beta_channel for not understanding the decorum established on this site. Its like walking into a bar you’ve never been to before. You don’t know whether people accept you as you are or test you.ZBrush ScreenGrab02.jpgZBrush ScreenGrab01.jpg

My first guess is your scale is different than in the tutorial your model. I will say that you should not try to add skin details procedurally though. Also if you’re attempting a likeness you need to focus on your forms still. Leave the skin pores until you’re done with your sculpture.

I liked the results of his approach to layers so as to have the ability to adjust the various layers later, much like layers what I’m use to in Photoshop. I’m experimenting, but ran into this issue and was unsure if my noise level was too high.

Since there is no memory of my great great grandmother other than the single frontal photo I have of her. The model here was a copy of the original that I’m continuing to work with. It seems crude to be sure.

I want to explore various techniques of adding skin as well techniques for eyes before settling on one in the end.
Thank you.
