Hi, is there a way to save a material and it’s settings along with the Ztool? It seems a bit strange that I would have to load my material settings every time I load my Ztool file.
try saving as a zproject instead
This is only if you want to save material with ZTool. Like pabgo suggested, if you save as Project file, you don’t have to worry about this.
Filling (‘FillObject’ in Color menu) the subtool with the color and material will retain the color and material if you save it as a ZTool.
i.e…
- Select Material and color.
- Turn on ‘Mrgb’ button.
- Go to ‘Color’ menu and click ‘FillObject’.
Note: If you alter a material on a ztool via the Material/Modifiers submenu, you would have to save that material and it would have to be in the Materials palette in order to be on the ZTool when you load it again.
Didn’t even know there was such a thing as a project in ZB, gotta play catchup this week. It’s in the file menu far away from the Ztool menu in case anyone was wondering. Thanks a bundle!
Fill Object works but if textures are used they seem to overwrite the individual materials with whatever is currently selected. Is there a work around or am I missing something? Thanks for your time!
Earlier versions had a color texture button which allowed individual materials to retain their textures. Is this option available?
hi Zim, based on my experience with ZB4. . .The texture map is saved with the Ztool. So if the texture map is applied in the Tool> Texture Map menu and then the Ztool is saved with it, the texture automatically loads when you load the Ztool.
DOn’t feel so bad Epig, I just discovered Zproject save last week myself.
