Save out Subtools?

So, I’ve gotten myself into a bit of a problem. I’ve been teaching myself zbrush and I have overloaded my .ztl.

Thankfully it still opens, but I’ve got my character with 49 subtools and the file is about 1.8 gig.

I was wondering if there is a way to save each subtool as a new .ztl so I can reorganize and get this back down to a managable size?

You can Export each individual subtool as an .obj then just import them later.

Ok, I’m gonna try that. This is gonna take a while lol

Disregard what I said about Exporting obj. You will lose your subdivisions that way. I forgot about that. Sorry!

A better way would be to Clone the subtool then select the Clone from the tool palette which would make it a lone subtool at which point you can save as a Ztool retaining all your subdivision levels.

That’s what I ended up doing. And it worked. Thanks!
