Var jobbar du nu?
Tack, kul att du gillar den!
För tillfället jobbar jag för Bring CityMail… delar ut post helt enkelt…
Men börjar väl bli dags att kanske sätta ihop ett reel och bli det man alltid brunnit för
how much does printing something like that run?
I have seen a lot about makerbot in Wired and other magazines recently
Uhm, I’m sorry, can you rephrase the question?
Had some time over for something a bit different last night
I wanted to try and see how it worked out to paint a model in Photoshop entirely, just exporting a render with the basic material.
Spent somewhere over an hour on the sculpt, and then something similar in PS Painting him. No polypaint!
Just a couple of Color and Multiply layers in PS
Hope someone finds the result interesting
Came out pretty cool Santis. I love the character.
Ezra
Thanks a lot Ezra!
cool portate. but the background seems abit low quelity
i like the way you gave it that fatty look!
nice job
Adam
Fun experiment on this last one posted Santis…:)…I bet that if you took a large blending brush to the background, blended the background and then blended some of that background color into some of the hard edges of the figure…say like the hard edge of his skull behind his ear on the shadowed side…in fact all of his shadowed side…you might start to get a really nice atmospheric and painterly feeling going on in the piece…Mixing /blending the colors of the background into the figure creates a sense of unity…colorwise…giving the painting a sense of color harmony and …oneness…You might even after doing that, take it back into ZBRUSH, and use the LightCap feature on it to push it even further…can get some really interesting results when that is done
I find in the painter program, that if I make the dimentions of the piece small, then I can make the blending brush big to get those nice big juicy painterly blending strokes…and after I do the background with the big strokes,…I then make the size of the piece big again to recapture the detail and resolution, before I bring it back into ZBRUSH…Not sure if Photoshop works the same way as Painter, don’t have it,…but it’s probably similar in that regard.
Anyway…Happy Painting, and Experimenting…small_orange_diamond:)

Adam.Desjardins: Thanks man! It was just a quick experiment, so the background was of low priority, but I still wanted to give it a somewhat painterly feel. But yeah, could sure use some more work
Glenn: Thank you my friend. I appreciate your tips, this is your area! ;D
I agree on blending the edges, but it is a gray scale background, so for this piece I guess that color blending wouldn’t work. But I get what you are saying
Will definitely keep it in mind for next time
How much does it cost to print something that size…I have been checking Shapeways and Kraftwurx…
Great skull, thanks Santis
Oh, I see
Well this was done with a hobby printer from a person I know here in Sweden, so it was free for me. But for him it probably costed about 1-2 dollars. The plastic it is made from costs 60 dollars per kg, and is really light. So a print like this is super cheap
I’m going to get a printer my self in a couple of months. If you still want something printed by then, just pm me and you’ll get it for a very low price
Okay, so here is a new project I have been working on for the past 4 weeks. It’s the product of the class I’m taking over at Cg society called High-end Fantasy game art, with Katon Callaway.
It’s perfect for me since I get to learn how to put my artistic skills in to practice in a game environment, and brush up my Maya knowledge (which is very limited).
I choose to do one of my all time favorite game villains, Ganondorf!
Here’s what I got so far, just about to retopo him
He’s pretty detailed and at 20,8 Mil polys, so things are starting to slow down a little.
Hope some Zelda fan on here likes it! (to be continued)
I was wondering what you have been up to. You haven’t been idle, he’s great!
Color will be very important with this one…
The course seems to work well for you.
WOW
Looks like your skill level has gone up a few levels with this character that you are working on…Always a great thing to see happening, while it’s happening :)…Glad to see you progressing so nicely, and also putting that skill of yours to a practical use…and you are still young enought to have a bright future at whatever you choose for it to be…Just keep on the path that you are on Santis, as far as enjoying what you do,… and who knows what the future will have in store for you…You just never can tell…It’s mostly just being at the right place, and at the right time, having the right skills, and a good thing will usually happen when you least expect it to happen…:)…That’s also true for bad things…the yin and yang of it all…Just be thankful for the good when it comes your way, and to hell with the bad.
Keep up the GREAT progress Santis…and never stop learning.small_orange_diamond:)
Glenn
MattSkinny: Thanks a lot!
Yes you are right, the color till be important, and might save that till the end, so I won’t stress it
Glenn: Thank you so much
That’s exactly what I needed. I sometimes feels so confused with what to do in life, but as you say, focus on the good and let the bad just pass People like you are the good, and I’m thankful for having you as a friend, you have always been an inspiration to me
Looking forward to seeing this in color!
Great! Hope I won’t disappointing you
Okay, too much serious business lately, retopo, projecting normal maps, learning maya, and working my day job… puh…
So just wanted to do something for fun… and what’s better than a little Christmas image this time of the year?
So here is an original concept by me of a big nosed Santa
Got pretty detailed with him
Would love to hear what you think
i Love the ugly nose guy “santa” amaxing idea!
