My Early stage WIP of a VFX creature, all crits welcome thanks
I’m aiming for a creature that is able to dwell both on land and in water naturally.
figured out a better way to maintin the tail. I will stylise those spikes into something more fancy hopfully he doesn’t look like a tadpole any more haha
Nice! this guy is starting to look really cool, man! Love the changes you made to the tail.
That’s kind of how I pictured the Terask.
interesting design of yours samuel, really has some very cool parts and I am definantly looking forward seeing this sculpt finished!
Keep it going and continue having so much fun mate!
Cheers,
KC:)
@Hendrik glad you like it man, that tail took a lot of brain wracking but I’m happy with the way it turned out.
@Jerik I’m afraid I do not know what or who the Terask is, but cool
@KC-Production Thanks Kenny, it’s been a fun one to sculpt for sure I’m looking forward to seeing it finished too
lol
Looking good, like the design of the front and rear feet, nice idea.
My bad, spelled it wrong. It’s Terrasque. D&D uber monster.
@Dman3d thanks, the rear feet are loosely based around an ancient breed of Crocodile, the front feet are entirely my own imagination. glad you like them
@Jerick that is uncanny, it’s amazing how even though you think something is completely unique there is always something out there that closely resembles. well I’ll hope to keep my creation it’s own beast
I made my first tree ^^ wip. taken from an old sketch I did. (there’ll be a cute fuzzy creature init)
(WIP) Here’s my first attempt at a likeness. for Paul’s Mastering Zbrush course good fun!
I won’t say who it is yet, to see if any one can guess. haha though it’s probably in the image name xD
I’ve re-done the entire underlying anatomical shape and form, taken all the surface noise away and changed the face. would like opinions on the believability of the structure and general thoughts.

here’s my latest attempt at the likeness sculpt. it’s tricky work.
Adrien Brody is the idea. you tell me if I captured his likeness?
(WIP)
some more hard surface and topology study. All done in Zbrush, shiny render done in Keyshot.
not sure if maybe I made the low cage poly count too dense. yet to add details (i.e Clasps, buckles and adornments.)
It occurred to me that I hadn’t done any vambraces yet, not shoes or gauntlets. here’s the Vambrace and elbow guards, that I concept 'd and re-topo’d all in a days work. Gauntlets and Booties incoming.
My entry for the FFXIV gear design contest.
Crystals being a major part of FinalFantasy lore, I thought a big chunk of Aetheryte would be suitable. within the large crystal is a swirling vortex pattern, representing Gaia all the swirls represent the flow of life and the leaf shapes that hold the crystal in place represent Yggrasil the tree of life. anything to make FFXIV resemble FinalFantasy again ^^
The Latest installment of my Hard surface Armor WIP. also a MATCAP I made as part of the study.
Concepting the Helmet right now, I’m a little unsure of some aspects, so I would like any one’s opinion on if you think the Helmet suits the armor, before I go ahead and finish it off.
… thanks.
