This painting depicts a scene from the story of the Hebrew hero Samson in Old Testament judges 13-16.Later, it was adapted into an opera and spread widely.
In this scene, Samson was seduced by Delilah’s beauty for many times, and finally told his true source of divine power, that is, his hair. So Delilah called a man to cut off Samson’s hair while he was asleep, and then cried out for the fourth time: "Samson!
