hah looking nice with the clothes , hes got some nice style!!! keep going man!
A sketch based off “Sujami” by ZurdoM.
I am really liking this 1 hour time restriction to my sculpts as I definitely feel like I am developing more quickly.
Did this one last night from a sphere.
Hi salki,
Wonderful… so expressive & dynamic.
Yes, working quickly is certainly working for you. I’ve always felt – in any medium – it both frees and engages the mind in very powerful ways.
There is a tendency to grind in 3DCG, even 3D sculpting. Grind long and hard enough and one stops seeing.
Less is More.
Best Wishes,
Darrel
Took a break from the stylized character and sat down for a bit last night to play around with spotlight. I will probably retopologize this guy and add more detail to his surface (pores etc) as I think this could eventually be a cool piece. Perhaps “Marv” from Sin City?
Another 1 hour sculpt I did for lunchcrunch.blogspot.com - check them out if you haven’t already.

Thx! I completely agree with the sketches ability to release ones mind creatively speaking.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything! This is what i’ve been chugging along on recently, its for DWV. This is Lidon - The God of Judgement. I still have to finish his weapon and texture him.

Got inspired by the Lunch Doodlers over at SOE.
Another sketch - took it a bit further - gonna play with it in maya for a bit after I add more elements to the model / finish texturing.
I made a character matrix that randomly generates characteristics. The roll that brought Kush (Kush Kush!) to life was: Male , Stone Age, Late Adult, Sneaky, Warrior, Backpack. Confused? I was too, but this is what I came up with – his “sneakyness” will come down to the pose and scene he is rendered in. Check back on Kush (Kush Kush!) soon!

nice work keep going man
Looks cool! How does the character matrix work?
Thanks! The character matrix is an excel spreadsheet i’ve setup in Google Docs. I have 5 or 6 columns of possible outcomes (Gender, Era, Age, etc). The spreadsheet is coded to randomly choose one from each column and output it into a results area. I just mash the delete button (randomizes the choices) and roll with whatever it lands on.
Another 1 hour lunch sketch. Used the character matrix again - what luck I get an old wizard…

Took another lunch hour and made some adjustments, more details, and a poly paint. Any suggestions? I know it’s only a sketch but pointers are always good.

Very good work. 5 stars from me
Lunch sketch, settling down on the world of Kush. Concepting his pet dog right now.
