Saint Michael

Saint Michael. This is from a, sort of, personal project I was working on while trying to learn ZBrush a good while ago. The project was about some sort of diplomatic intrigues between the choirs of Heaven and the legions of Hell. I figured while I was learning how to use ZBrush I’d try to ‘theme’ the work I was doing so I’d have a body of work on a single theme that I might try to develop into an ongoing work.
This is Michael on a visit to Hell as an Ambassador from Heaven. (apologies if anyone offended by the religious aspect).

It’s also a sister image to this one showing Belial, Hells Ambassador to Heaven. Well. In he is in my story anyway.

Everything apart from background and smoke built from ZSpeheres in ZBrush and rendered in Zbrush. Render passes overlaid in Photoshop.

Nice pose, gesture and composition. I like it a lot, but personally i think it needs more detail especially in the way the cloth is sculpted and the painting overall is begging for some darkness and contrast because the glow of the halo blends everything too much.

Nice work and composition, i like very much the wings, but I agree with Aiman, your scene has much more inside, as now seen.

good stuff! The aura is a nice touch!
