Sagat .. street fighter

Hi all,
We recently got an old old Street Fighter arcade box at work.
Brought back lots of memories from when i was a lil kid
So I decided to make a Sagat wallpaper for my desktop
base mesh was from an old character i made in xsi,
the rest is all zbrush with the background and flames painted in photoshop. i kinda tried to make the flames like the new game comin soon
the materials used are all polypainted on Ralf Stumpf’s amazing matcaps

i’ll try and post some progress shots tomorrow
will also make the different resolutions for desktop sizes so ppl can download it if they want
cheers

nice work man, like how u got the skin material feeling so smooth! :+1: :+1:

thanks zaheer07
glad u like it

the skin is a skinbase matcap from Ralf Stumpf
chek em out theyre all really cool

Shoulders need to be taller/longer and the biceps need to be thinner. The shoulder muscles could use some meat at the top where it joins to the clavicle.

Nice materials and composition.

Hi man! Where do you pic up the skin shader, can you give me a link please

what Danconia said is true and you can add more lat width to the back and where the biceps join the shoulder and the pec, we see too much of the biceps, make you front delt going lower on your bicep and closer to the shoulder because the front delt connect to the chest, not to the biceps, the biceps is under the delt where he connect. I hope it help, but great job overall.

Thank you DAnconia and BigGuns
thanks for taking the time to crit my work
I will try and make those changes in the next few days and post more progress
thanks for the inspiring words as well

as for the skin shader, it can be found on the gnomonology website here

Here is what I mean. It’s the principal modif you can do to get it better

I will look your update

Here it is, Hope you like it!

Big Guns

thank you so much for taking the time to point out the crits on my character

Yeah I’m glad you didn’t widen his girth too much as I really liked the stylized proportions you had. And the shoulders and biceps are looking a bit better. Sagat was my second fav to play behind Ken.

Although you dont see it I think the back and calves could use a little bit of work. The back feels lumpy and unorganized. The calves should have a bit of a plane change. It is slightly correct because he standing flat foot and not on his tippie toes. My legs are very build and I can see even there is a plane change standing up right.

But dont get my wrong I love this piece, thats why Im being a lil hard. I really wana see this thing be so full and strong.

I think you should revise the shorts. The fabric needs bigger folds and elasticity. Google boxer short especially those of kick boxers.

The pecs seem to be a little bigger than they should be especially in height.
You can also bring the clavicle down a bit. It’ll give more height to the trapezooids and neck which will look cool.

You can also make the scar bigger and more messy while maintaining the original shape.

Great progress! :+1: :+1: :+1:

Also did a small paintover if you don’t mind :).
I’m a huge Sagat fan!

Good luck!
