Ryan Kingslien tutorial problems

Hello everyone,

I’ve been following along to Ryans tutorial using Marcus’s new image plane 3. Everything was going really well intill the point where I realised I had to combine the images I’d created. It was then that I realised that for this to work I really need to of un-wrapped my UV’s so I could see the textures clearly in photshop and not just used guv tiles. My question is is there a way to use this technique using guv tiles. The only way I can see of doing it at the moment is to load each of my textures onto the mesh and paint the areas where the texture starts to stretch as a plain bright colour so that in photshop I can see clearly which bits need to be replaced with the textures that aren’t stretched in that area.

I hope this makes sense, although if you haven’t watched these tutorials then I’m sure this just sounds like the ramblings of a fool…which I guess it kind of is.

Which tutorial are you using?

Also, can you post images of the image plane set up you are looking to use. Is it just one plane or is it an x or is it cube?

Did you try the macros and are those working for you?

Best,

Ryan

Hey Ryan good to hear from the man himself.

It’s the tutorial where you use the image plane in projection Master to manipulate the face image onto the head mesh.

I’m using the new image plane 3. It works great in projection master but if I try and use it using the new Zproject way I just end up distorting my actual head mesh as the background image seems to be untouchable.

I haven’t tried the Macros are they in the same thread as your video tutorials.

I spoke to Marcus_Civisin a thread here
http://zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=46396&page=3
and he said that it was possible and that he’d post a tutorial up later.

Many thanks
