Rotate Tool

Ok, I am fairly new to ZBrush using it for a project in school. I am having a little issue that is somewhat annoying and do not know if I can change a setting to fix this…

So as you may already know you can rotate your image by dragging your pen on your tablet. Well when I am trying to sculpt something out I have to make sure to get right on the edge of my object with the move brush or else it will automatically rotate my object. This is really annoying and slowing me down a lot while trying to sculpt my object. Is there a way to change this. Like can I make it to where I have to be a certain distance from my object to rotate it with dragging my pen across my tablet or can I just turn this off completely and just use the key sort cuts or tools in the tool bar for rotation?

Sorry if this makes no sense. I did upload some screenshots for a better idea of what I am talking about just to show how close I am to the object before it makes my object rotate.

Not sure if I know what you mean but from I know there is no way to customize the way that the camera rotates. This, anyway, is not a problem when you are used to it. As long the center of the cursor is in the object it won’t rotate, typically noticeable as the cursor will align to the normals of the object.

You have several ways to keep the screen in place if you move it accidentally. For example rotating and pressing shift will allow you to snap to 90 degrees view. Apart of that there is a handy plugin that can give you buttons for each angle:

If you are trying to use an image as reference and the movement of the camera makes you to lose the alignment with the reference there are multiple ways to do it and avoid losing the alignment. For that you can check the tutorial about references from Pixologic:

You can see there ways to save cameras or store refs in the grid that will make easy to keep the alignment with the references. You can also store cameras in the timeline.

Anyway I would like to have an undo for cameras, as in 3dsmax. But I don’t think there is one.
