This has been driving me crazy. I’m learning zbrush and I turned on the option to see the ‘floor’ and found that my sculpture character was sideways, so I tried to rotate it so its feet would line up with the floor and I just can’t figure it out! I tried using transpose and it’s locked. The ‘initialize’ segment that was shown in a zclassroom video to have places where it could rotate a primitive plane didn’t show any of the alignment options that it did in the video (just add a cylinder and add some other stuff along xyz coordinates). There is a scale and move option under ‘geometry’ on the side panel and they work fine, but I can’t find any rotate there. To make matters worse, no matter what I type in in the internet search engine, I don’t get answers that are remotely close to the type of rotate problem I’m having (plenty of info about zbrush’s navigation rotate and rotating a brand new tool but nothing on rotating something in the sculpting phase). This problem is really frustrating me because rotating an object should be such an easy thing to be able to do. Please help!
Transposer should work but have you tried tools-deformation-rotate?
@altea sorry it took so long to respond. I thought I set this thread to notify me when I got a message. >_<
well i looked in the tools and tried to just do the rotate slider that you suggested but its locked too. It just goes back to 0 without actually rotating anything
Use the button unify in deformation to reset the scale. If this doesn’t work you could export the object as obj and import it in a clean project. If the object has subdivisions then save it with the higher subdivision on and then rebuilt subdivisions when importing the obj in the clean project.
This is rather a workaround but it should work. No idea why you have that problem.
I tried the unify button, it changed the size but it still made it so that it wouldn’t rotate >.< ah well, I had barely started that project, I’ll just start over again. Best way to learn is to have problems right?
Zbrush has plenty of these kind of quirky things but I never have seem that one.
I must just be that good at breaking things lol
