"Rotate on Y axis" keeps switching back to XYZ everytime i restart ZB

Hi,

im using the “rotate on Y axis” function and zswitcher so my viewport navigation is exactly like maya which im used to. The problem is that everytime i restart zbrush, the “rotate on Y axis” gets switched back to the zbrush default “rotate on all axes XYZ”.

I saved the custom ui config and set it as startup, saved document and project, saved hotkeys but it keeps switching back even when i open the same project where i had it on. Same behavior is with symmetry setting and the “menus” button at the top, all these get turned off everytime i restart zb. But for example “perspective” and “floor” keep their settings. I tried digging through menus, config files and registry but couldnt find anything relevant. I got all those functions hotkeyed but things would still be much smoother if i didnt have to think about ui stuff everytime i open projects. Also note that mentioned zswitcher has nothing to do with this, i tried everything with it off.

Is it somehow possible to make those settings stick? Mainly the Y camera rotation that is.

Any tips are welcome!

Some settings cannot be saved. In most cases, what you can do instead is to record a macro of you changing the settings how you want. After saving the macro you can assign a hotkey to its button so that after launching ZBrush you can redo the settings with a single key press. Or you can incorporate the macro into your DefaultZScript. (See http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?79709-Setting-up-a-macro-to-run-on-startup)

Some settings can only be made while a model is in edit mode on the canvas. In that case your macro/DefaultZScript would need to include lines to draw something on the canvas and enter edit mode.
