Hi everyone. Well, just finished this. Done from memory of a very lonely spot in the New Mexico Desert. The owner was nice enough to take 3 tourists from Nebraska out there on a Sunday in the middle of ‘Sheep Shearing’, a very nice lady. I still have my faded tee shirt.:smiley:
Anyway, all Zbrush with the exception of the light on the ground, I couldn’t get the point light to do what I wanted. The ground was done with an alpha inflated on a plane. The rocks on the ground were rectangle-stroked with Paint Brush. The real fun was discovering the Depth Brush in doing the Rock Strata on the cliffside. I used the alpha 25 and grabbed the rectangle stroke, then sized, stretched and rotated each rock section in place and snap-shotted. I hope to add a some dead aliens lying around, but I’m kinda Z’d out right now. Have a great weekend everyone. 50.

I have seen the last remake of the War of the worlds by Spielberg :roll_eyes:
Cool images but a little deficient for the story scenario :cry:
The original book was the best :sunglasses:

Gorgeous work 50. I absolutely love the overhead view you have going here. It’s almost a struggle to find anything which needs improvement. If anything, the porthole the light is emit from just seems a little mispositioned in its current spot on the side of the ship’s hull.

Hi Pilou, that is one of my favorite stories. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but have longed for such a remake. I can’t imagine Speilberg dissapointing me. I do wish they had set in the period it was written in, though. Thanks for the link, so many versions. Take care.

Thanks, Verdant. The hole in the side was meant as a damaged area blasted out with the engine glowing through, maybe I could have made that more obvious, maybe bent edges or something. Thanks, though. Maybe I’ll get the energy up to do the dead bodies this weekend. :slight_smile:

Nice scene 50.

I was playing “Destroy All Humans!” on my xbox today and I had a flashbhack when I was this image.

Also, why create dead alien bodies? How about some aliens marching out with ray guns and probe devices? Haha! Seems like a fun scene to play with and I look forward to more.
