Roland Deschain - The Gunslinger (WIP)

Actually, the details should be in the original film. As I understand it, any movie shot on 35mm, or larger film stock has far better resolution than even Full HD can display. HD resolution (1920 x 1080) is actually small compared to film stock resolution.

“Film is analog so there are no real “pixels.” However, based on converted measures, a 35mm frame has 3 to 12 million pixels, depending on the stock, lens, and shooting conditions. An HD frame has 2 million pixels, measured using 1920 x 1080 scan lines. With this difference, 35mm appears vastly superior to HD.”

“The most common resolution for Blu-Ray discs is 1080p, which means it has 1080 pixels along the horizontal edge of the screen. Film does not contain pixels, and instead captures images using tiny silver halide crystals. After being subjected to various tests, experts have speculated that film can contain up to 12 million pixels, an obvious advantage over 1080p’s 2 million.”

Deadly job FOXHOUND. One small problem, Roland is actually missing the first two fingers on his right hand (index and middle). Other than that The Gunslinger would be proud. Pleasent nights.
