Roger The Homunculus (From Mike Mignola's B.P.R.D.)

Hey everyone,

I’ve been a long time lurker but this is my first post here on Zbrush Central. What an amazing community this is and I’m really excited to finally get involved!

This sculpt is my first full character done in Zbrush. This is my take on a realistic version of Mike Mignola’s B.P.R.D. character Roger The Homunculus. Everyone does Hellboy and Abe so I figured I’d branch it out a bit. I went with a more realistic style because no one’s seen that portrayal of Roger that I know of and I figured Mike Mignola’s style is so awesome, why try to recreate it?

The only other thing I’ve done with ZBrush is sculpt a quick head study just to get used to the tools a little before starting this one. So this is the first real work I’ve produced using the program.

I’m definitely ready to move on from this project but would still love to hear everyone’s critiques and comments so that I can grow as a digital sculptor. Thanks!

Welcome Switchblade_Comb, and nice first post. Looking forward to seeing more.

looks great! i don’t know the character though so the door knocker kinda threw me.

Thanks for the kind words guys!

@zcomb: Yeah his “plumbing” is definitely something out of the ordinary. Another reason I figured I’d give him a try. Throw people off a little bit.

Thanks again!

If anyone has any critiques or anything like that I’d love to hear them. Getting some advice from everyone would really be valuable.

head needs some work, try to pull the cheeks out so they arent so gaunt

@ joe55: I think I see what you mean. I might have to play with the volumes of the face a little more. Thanks for the tip!
