Even though you say theirs not much more progress,i see how it stands out in comparison. But i know i need work thanks for showing.
At least his work, although far from top row, has some kind of style that he seems to be developing…kinda. Shockblade has yet to develop that.
Glad my base mesh idea is getting more praise than put downs. Hope it’s useful to someone.
@ Verde… Does it matter what version it’s for? It doesn’t seem like Shockblade even made an attempt to use it yet. Someone can feel free to re-upload in .obj if they want.
Thanks for the model currently i use it as a reference, but my zbrush skills are growing,i could do intire bases in max with some parts but i realy focus on building up in zbrush as well.i thank you eternally. Each peace brings me closer
to perfection.
at the rate your going we’d need an endless supply of “peaces” to get you to perfection…
your skills aren’t growing, they’ve been stagnant for a good 6 months, and you haven’t proven you can do entire basemeshes in max, well you can but they’re as flawed as everything else you’ve been doing…
take the help, humour us…use the base mesh to make something, even if you only make one thing…but be self aware enough to admit that what you’re doing is not good and that you might actually need the help of others to get somewhere
i’d like to see you succeed in this as you obviously get some enjoyment out of it, but if you keep going the way your going, you’ll just get stuck in a cycle of doing the same poor quality work and alienate people with your “i know what i’m doing” attitude to the point where they won’t even want to help you
I don’t even think anyone should continue replying to this thread, it’s becoming an obvious troll to me. The horrid grammar and misspellings could not possibly be coming from anyone sincere who is over the age of 7, so I think we could all do ourselves a service by stopping this thread altogether. Also Mindblade I feel bad for you that Shockblade has sullied your name…
krkrkrkr never mind, its my fault. It just shows me I am too old for stupido wannabe cool alter ego names.
Happy new year
I will start by saying i never said i wasnt going to use it period,i may figure it out or start with it as an obj.I know you want to see the imprvements it will
happen i ment nothing bad.Dont jump to these conclusions in this new year,
i wouldnt start it that way.
Just posting some stuff to end this off for now hope you like it in some way,i tried to upgrade this compared to the previos ones.I may do more with it but

In this one as you may see i created the body and head separately.
It really didn’t make a difference. Everything is still out of proportion.
I see some of the problem, i want to get better at it, i can i see the lower leags
calf area needs help and maybe the chess area.ill work on modifications.
I’ve never taken a college course in zbrush but being on zbrush central can be like that in a way.i did get better, way better with z spheres it takes much practice to be confident with them.
To darkmessia i want to thankyou for your support.
You still need to do the studying of anatomy, get some good references or utilize the ztl base model that was offered to you previously, to get going. the primary proportions are all off, still. Those need to be correct as your starting point before you move on to futher detailing your character with the muscles breast, clothes etc. I know this has all been recommended to you numerous times shockblade. You seem reticent to do that but it would serve you well to take that advice if you want to get better results on your characters. I’m new to Zbrush too, I got it in October and almost immediately purchased one of Scott Spencers books to try and educate myself regarding anatomy, correct proportions of bipeds and how to recreate that in a Zbrush model. I’ve also never taken any graphics courses or gone to college at all but a lot can be accomplished with a little effort in self education. Especially now with so much free stuff on the net. If you can’t afford a book like that there are tons of free video tutorials and human form, both male and female, illustrations and photographs on the internet. Not to mention looking at the work of the numerous fantastic artists here at ZBC. Good luck.
its a shame you think you’re actually improving…because the work is still bad, and it won’t get any better until you man up and accept the fact you need help.
I’m completely self taught, no courses or anything, but I’m not stupid, I know when somethings bad and I always look for way to find help and make my work better.
Take the help, use the base mesh, or whatever…just stop treading the same damn water you have been for the last 6 months and learn something…
i don’t even know why i’m bothering any more as you’ll just ignore this and any other suggestion someone gives you…
so good luck to you, I’m done, this is a lost cause and needs to be left to sink to the bottom of the forum…
Can you not see the difference in the overall shape between your model and the base mesh that was provided for a you a few posts back.
If you were walking down the street and seen someone shaped like one of your models, would think they were normal.
Clearly shockblade aint listening to the advice he’s been given, but this thread is a good resource for artists, clear examples of how not to do it, followed by excellent advice on how you should do it.
But if its just a hobby you have fun with, then just have fun with it i suppose, thats all that matters at the end of the day.
how many times do we have to comment about him not listening to advice… let him continue posting his work. as long as he thinks its good enough, he is obviously not going to stop
Shockblade, take EZRA52’s advice and buy a Scott Spencer ZBrush book.
I have both of his books and they are full of what everyone here has been trying to tell you for the past 6 months. If you can’t improve you work or at least learn something by reading them, there is no hope for you. I would highly recommend them both, but the second one focuses on sculpting human anatomy which seems to be what you are going for.
