Ok, am I the only one who gets super annoyed that r-click navigation is pretty much disabled once you go out of DRAW mode and enter into Move, Rotate or Scale mode? What I’m talking about is the fact that when you are in Draw, you can r-click anywhere on your model to rotate, ctl+rclick to zoom and alt+rclick to pan…fine and dandy. But once you go into one of the transpose modes any r-clicks behave exactly like the left click (drawing action line, transforming your model, etc). What is so freaking frustrating about this is that if you alt+rclick and “pan” your view…well, you’ve now UNKNOWINGLY moved your model. Unless you have some other subtools showing it looks just like you’ve panned, and your muscle memory tells you that’s what you just did because that’s how it works when you are in Draw mode (95% of the time)…but low and behold when you rotate around or unhide your other subtools…F.U.B.A.R.!
I have to say I’m really surprised that others are not complaining about this more often. Maybe there is a way to disable this behavior that I’m not aware of? In any case it has to be my #1 complaint about Zbrush and the thing that causes me to lose the most productivity.
