Right alt button now does -mask

Hi,

I opened up zbrush after being away for a month or two and my right alt button now acts as a hotkey for -mask instead of navigation. The left alt key does what it’s supposed to as does everything else. I assume it’s some setting I’ve turned on accidentally. I did a fresh install of z brush which solved the problem for a little while but after a few hours it’s back to -mask. I’ve replaced the 'hotkey’file with the clean one on zbrush as well. Otherwise I haven’t found anything to try.

I’m left handed so the tablet’s pen is there while my right hand is used to that side of the keyboards set up. So I’d love a fix.

Regards,
Phil

Didn’t even know there was a right alt key. Never seen it on any keyboard I’ve ever used. CTRL yes but alt? Alt Gr yes but that’s a different story. Just checked my own ZB. Looks like the ALT GR key activates mask mode but it doesn’t actually work. What u could use probably is to set up your own Hotkey for the ALT GR key. HTH

I have an Alt Gr key but that behaves in the way you describe, as -mask (the same as Ctrl+Alt). As far as I know, there’s no way within ZBrush to change this, so you won’t have changed it by accident using ZBrush. So if it worked for you before I think you must have changed something with your computer system as a whole.

On Windows - at least, prior to Windows 10 - it’s possible to remap keys using the registry. The effect will be global, of course. There’s a little application called SharpKeys that will do it for you here: https://github.com/randyrants/sharpkeys
