Hi All,
I have made a skeleton in zbrush - which I’m rather proud of.
it’s got every single separate bone in the body, all anatomically perfect, all as separate sub tools.
However - I now what to pose it swinging a golf club. I have been trying for four days but nothing seems to work.
(First off - I’m only a beginner, so I hope I am just missing something very obvious.)
Firstly I thought I could rig it in Maya. So I tried importing all the bones as separate objs, but I quickly ran out of memory and it kept crashing.
I downloaded the GoZ plugin - but that would only bring in the first 15 sub tools before it had a paddy.
So I figured that my poly mesh must be massive - so I downloaded decimation plugin. It worked but I could never get GoZ to take it back to Maya afterwords.
So I thought I’d just rig it in zbrush with the transpose master plug in. But if I use that then it deforms my bones and i have to keep patching them up.
Is there any easier way!!
PLEASE HELP!
Hi Cat,
I’m not familiar with rigging in Maya but would it work with the low res combined mesh that Transpose Master creates? If so then export out an OBJ from ZBrush, rig in Maya, then import the posed OBJ back into the same TM tool in ZBrush before transferring the pose to the subtools. (I think GoZ will fail on this because of Maya’s picky naming.)
Sounds an interesting project. You should post pictures for people to see.
HTH,
Thank you so much for the reply Marcus - I’m going to try that first thing in the morning, and I’ll post some images once it is all posed - swinging for the ball.
Thanks again
