Rigged character shows distorted surface in new pose

Hi everybody,

These days I tried for the first time to rig and pose characters.
But the surface shows cruel distortions after bending the arms using a zsphere rigg.
First I thought that this reaction may be an outcome of a too high resolution (4 million quads).
I minimized the mesh down to 250 k but the effect was still the same.
Any ideas?

This happened to me but I forget why now…
Do you have a lot of subdivisions?
If so try doing the posing on the lowest subdivision, that could help, but I cant promise…

The character has no subdivisions. I could’nt decide until today which is the best way for modelling with zbrush for me.
So I modelled it using dynamesh with a high resolution followed by retopo via Zremesher.
Any yes - I have the feeling too that low res or subdivided modells will pose better.

They might… I honestly am not sure.
What are you doing to move the ZSphere rig?

I activate the rig “bones” (clicking) and use the rotate ® command/button.
