Here’s another recent image. 3D models were imported and heavily worked over in 2.5D. I had no game plan, and got lost in the details, which was fun.

Hey, pretty awesome Ken! Detailing looks very interesting.
love that cavity shader!
looks like volcanic rock formations.
Nice image Ken!

Great. You are an inspiration, Ken!
Ken this is great, I love the detailing. Is there any chance to see the scene in its basic 3d state before you worked it over in 2.5d?
Thank you for the comments.
3DP: I don’t have the raw scene before reworking, but here is the skeleton model I made in Lightwave used in it.

I really like this one. Would make a great addition
to any series on the Holocaust or any place for that matter where man’s inhumanity to man is prevalent.
Thanks for sharing this one!
this skeleton is a very good model, well done.
what a coincidence, right now i am working, reviewing a 3D skeleton app seaarching for larinx reference models¡…and you post this one.
As always from you the model are very well realized.
Congratulations

Hey Ken,
i prefer this one - for some reason:
i can see many different materialities in this looming pile. Mud, lava, bones, dirt, skulls - many more thinks if i could see the picture fullsize. Maybe you can provide a link with the original size - i would appreciate that.
Its oppressing to see those details in the upper image
bearing down on the darker area in the lower part.
Print that awsome pile of pixols…
…inspiration
Close up seems like wormholes of industrious insects

Thank U 4 inspiration
I appreciate the encouragement.
Bongob: A friend of mine with a large scale printer made a print of this one and some others. The results of having a large, tangible version of the pixels transfered off the monitor and into the “real” world has been highly invigorating. So much so, that I’m considering producing some for sale.
when you say your work in 2.5D you mean you did almost everything in projection master? Ou your did all the classical way?
It seem you have have a super high res…
What is the size of the doc, and an idead of the polycount?
Hi everybody.
Dear Ken,
your rib cage (skeleton model)is absolutely nice!
I wish I had it in 3D file!
Anatom.
You can dowloand free anatomy mesh, but its almmost in 3ds, but I didnt found any good entire squelletton…
If anyone has a link…
I think well have a lot of bones artworks in the next weeks!
Super interesting work!
Sebcesoir: No projection master. The detail in this image wasn’t created through actual polygons, but through ZB’s 2.5D tools. Once the models were dropped to the canvas, they were no longer truly 3D in the sense that we usually refer to.
The original is approx 2800 pixels. It, however, was comprised out of 2 separate renderings and blended together in Photoshop
Thanks for the infos…
As I work in video games, I think it could be interesting to capture a zdeph greyscale alpha of your doc, and displace a poly plane to generate a normalmap to see what it could give in realtime…
