I really like your style and detail. The first pic is freakin’ awesome. Good job!

Really cool stuff!
I love the last one, it really struck a cord with me
Good job man!
-Pedro, thank you very much, I call him the Peaceful Alien, I really like how serene and at peace he looks, im glad you like it!
-Zber2, thank you! she is my student demo reel showpiece, its a mental ray render, but all of the detailing was done with zbrush, and displayed with normal/displacement maps

All WIP’s, trying to post more often

I’m digging the green guy in an abstract way, he is almost melting. I think you could work on him more but then again, I kinda like the flat shading and low resolution look. But he’s got a feeling about him. I’m no expert so I tend to not comment much.
I would put my name on them, even if they are work in progress.
Green dude; “Oh ****, i’m melting”…
But seriously, he’s nice, love him
-Recorgasm , thank you , yeah he is still a WIP, thanks for the feedback
VictorCS- hehe exactly! thank you
gonna do as many of these as I can each week
this took about 50 minutes , from a dynamesh cube - concept from Danny Williams.

really nice sculpts rettich as usual! Thanks for sharing
Mostly still blocking out everything, done some sculpting on the two heads, will keep posting as I make progress

some aliens done in zbrush/photoshop

Very cool work!
Hey everyone,
I recorded the start of this project, which explains how I created my basemesh.

I also wanted to share the passes I render out of zbrush for the images above. I take these renders ( and some-times more materials just to have more fun stuff to play with ) into photoshop, and use a blend of painting, and photo manipulation to create the environment behind him, as well as add smaller details and further describe the shapes I was going for in this mesh. You can see the head completely changes from the mesh to my final image, as I ended up being unhappy with it.
I approach these meshes with the idea of taking them into photoshop so I am primarily thinking about my silhouette , more than creating a nice mesh. Which is why it is very rough. I am constantly decimating/dynameshing/zremeshing to be able to keep working with unlimited possibilities of detail .
For this project I used IMM brushes for the first time, which was an absolute blast! I cannot wait to make another model like this.
Hopefully this was helpful!
