Hi, I was hoping someone could help me with the following issue. I Foolishly overwrote a hi-poly tool with its low, re-topologiesed tool and was wondering… praying… if their is a way of getting it back? The low poly tool still has the hipoly data somewhere as its over 30mb and it still shows the hi-poly model in the topology tool allowing me to create new topology over it, but I cant find a way to get just the hi-poly mesh on its own back. Can anyone help with this? I am quite new to zbrush so it might be something simple I have missed? A way to unbind perhaps?
You could try this:
- Load your topology ztool and your low res ztool.
- Select the topology tool and turn off Tool>Topology>Edit Topology, then press Tool>Topology>Select Topo and select the low res ztool from the pop-up. (This creates new topology based on the original topology.)
- Set Tool>Adaptive Skin>Density to the number of subdivisions your original ztool had.
- Set Tool>Topology>PreSubdiv to the number of subdivisions your original ztool had.
- Turn on Tool>Projection>Projection.
- Now press ‘A’ on the keyboard to preview the mesh. If it looks good then press Tool>Adaptive Skin>Make Adaptive Skin to create a skinned version. Make sure you select and save this (its name will begin ‘Skin_’). Otherwise you will have to experiment with the various settings/sliders to see if you can improve the result.
HTH,
Thanks for that Marcus, I’ve tried it a few times now and it will need some playing with but I can see it working with some tweaking, saved a day of work there, greatly appreciate it!
