Retopology Questions

Hello!
Just wondering if there’s a way of hiding parts of a model so I can get to other parts which are partially hidden. Also, is there a way of changing the transparency settings of my model because things are getting super confusing. Here is a video to illustrate what I’m talking about specifically, I need to get into the gap between the guy’s neck and shirt collar:

Any help is appreciated!

If you don’t have polygroups assigned, you can use masking to hide parts of your mesh. To hide an “unmasked” area, go to Tool > Visibility and click ‘HidePt’.

As to your transperancy issue, go to Preferences > Draw > Front Opacity 0.95, Back Opacity 0.01

Thanks for the response, it helped a lot!

Hey!
I can’t figure out how to mask my model, I can mask my new topology but not the model underneath it. Here’s another vid to show:

No, you can’t hide portions of your model while your doing retopology. What you should have done was seperate your model into different subtools before you started retopology i.e. seperate the head from the shirt, then do your retopology. To do this, you could mask (or use selection tools) and hide everything but the head so only the head is visible, then go to Polygroups submenu and click Group Visible then go to Subtool menu and click Groups Split. Now the head and the shirt will be seperate subtools. This will also allow you to increase subdivision levels even higher on each subtool.
