Retopology methods

Hi, is the new zwrap or wrap tool a complete replacement for manual retopology like maya or topogun? Should i learn both methods or just one?

Which feature are you referring to?

Manual re-topology will always be necessary in some situations. Low poly hard surface geometry or meshes destined for animation may require deliberate, highly optimized topology that auto-retopo methods will not be able to produce with a single button click.

Whether or not you need to know how to do this depends on the sort of output you are working towards, but it would only help you if you were comfortable doing this. You will then not be subject to the whims of auto-retopo, and will always have the option of manually drawing your topology.
