Hello, I was wondering if some kind soul could help with the following re-topology issue I’m having.
I’ve done some successful re-topo work in the past, but now Im trying to do the column (pictured) and Im running into issues. This column tool was originally made with the projection master. I want to “re-topo” it with the detail from the old topology projected on. Out of the pictures Ive posted with this message,
- Column4 shows the original mesh together with the new retopo lines.
- Column3 shows the adaptive skin version of the new topology with projection turned OFF (at the lowest subdiv level).
- Column2 shows the adaptive skin of the new topology with projection turned ON (at the highest subdiv level)
- Column1 shows the same as Column2 but at the lowest subdiv level.
So the problem seems to be with trying to project the detail from the old mesh onto the new retopo’d mesh. Please could someone tell me if I’ve missed an important step out, or if they think there might be a problem with any of the models Im using? It looks like something is wildly out (or maybe inside out?)
