Retopology - increasing subdivision lvl?

Hiya folks!

I’ve begun retopologizing my model, and realized too late that the mesh I selected wasn’t at it’s highest subdivision level. Making an adaptive skin from that would result in a loss of some fine details.

Too much work has been put in the retopology to begin all over, so I’m hoping there’s a way to temporarily switch back to the model and increase it’s geometry subdivision, and then back to retopology?

Regards.

Well, first off, the active skin isn’t going to get all your high res details no matter what you do, until you use Project All. (Unless you’re manually meshing out all those details, which could be very time consuming!)

But, its easy enough to switch out your mesh once you’ve begun retopo. Assuming you still have the retopo zsphere ‘cage’ that is. Simply load your reference tool, and change it to the highest subdivision. Switch back to your retopo, go to rigging->delete mesh. Then, rigging->select mesh again and choose your higher res tool. Just continue where you left off.

Ahh idd, that did the trick! Thanks alot
