Retopology in Regular ZBrush 4

Hi guys, just a quick question,

I’ve got the standard ZBrush for, recently started using, and enjoying it so much. But I just have a quick question,

So far I’ve divulged that if I merge too subtool, inevitably I’ll have to make a new mesh from two to get everything nice and tidy. So, I was wondering whether there’s a faster way to retopologize other than point and clicking every single microsphere.

I checked out some topology tutorials and the like, and apparently if I hold down Shift and left clik, when topologizing, it’ll draw the mesh for you. Well, I tried this, and it doesn’t want to, as in, if I shift and left click, or shift and draw with my wacom, nothing happens.

So what am I doing wrong?

Has this something to do with the fact that that specific tutorial only works for ZBrush 3 and not ZBRush 4?

Seriously guys, this is driving me crazy. Any and all advice and help will be appreciated?

Just curious. What do you mean by “Regular” ZBrush 4 ???

as in not ZBrush 4R2

ZBrush 4R2b is much better than ZBrush 4. Why don’t you upgrade to 4R2b? or are you using the trial version?

well, I’ll probably upgrade now. Yeah, nevermind this bollocks. If Dynamesh exists, why bother with something else?
