I sometime use zspheres for modeling and then retop it later. But sometimes the model only needs part of it redone, since the topology the zspheres gave me worked fine. is there a way to only retop part of the model such as just the head and keep what the zspheres give you for the rest of the body?
I’d think it would be pretty simple. If you have a low poly mesh made from Zspheres, you should be able to load it as topology to start editing.
Would start with a single zsphere, like normal, then go to rigging, load a smoothed high poly model you want to edit, that way you have a surface to click on when editing. Then under topology, have a low polygon version ready to go in your tools and load it as topology. Then click edit topology, delete the bad area, then draw the new edges.
I did something like this recently. Halfway through some new topology I got fed up with Zbrush 4 worse topology and made a polymesh from what I had done and exported it to load in Zbrush 3.5. I had to go through some tricks so zbrush kept the scale between the full model and the half done topology the same.
This can be useful to join two subtools together. Come to think of, I think there might of been a way to paint the topology from the rigging to the topology as you edit, only problem is you need that to be low poly.
