retopo problem

Hello everyone,

I’ve created a model in zbrush but I need more topology near eyes and nose but I do not want to recreate whole geometry I just want to add some topology to the one I’ve already have, I have found this video on youtube

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=im0fWQv6NhY

… but it seems it is not working in zb4, does anyone knows how to workaround it?

thx in advance for your help

Your subtool has to have less than 15,000 points for this to work.

  1. Select a ZSphere, draw it on the canvas and enable ‘Edit’.
  2. In ‘Rigging’ submenu, click ‘Select Mesh’ and select your mesh from the flyout.
  3. Scale down the ZSphere if it is in the way. If you do, re-enable ‘Edit’ again.
  4. In ‘Topology’ submenu, click ‘Select Topo’ and select your mesh from flyout then click ‘Edit Topology’.

Edit: If you don’t mind having the “cage only” visible, then you can skip step 2.

Thank you for your response, thanks to your advice I’ve managed to add some topology but when I’ve changed topology on lower subdiv, all of my details on higher subdiv disappeared  (and I don’t really know why), I’ve tryed to append a tool with all of the details to this one with new topology (but without details) and project all details on to this tool but it didn’t worked,

so my problem is: I’ve a tool with high subdiv level (7) and detail, but I need to add an edgeloop on a lower subdiv level (2) without loosing all of the details on higher subdiv level - is this even possible?
